ministry

Recently I needed to send an email to YWAM trustees and leaders to report the yearly ministry activities that we have done and wow I found it so encouraging to see how much God is doing in Cornwall. We feel so blessed to be in Cornwall in this time, so I pray that as you read this newsletter you will feel encouraged as I am and grateful to God for His faithfulness and the part you play in this through your prayers and support.

7 years ago we said yes to Jesus to come to Cornwall. We established YWAM Immerse Cornwall with a beautiful couple who were already here living for 5 years, connecting with people and preparing the land for YWAM to come. We didn’t know how or what steps exactly to follow, but we had the word of God, the wisdom from the YWAM England founders who were so open for us to ask all the questions that we had about pioneering a base, the amazing support of YWAM Harpenden in case we needed something they were ready to jump in to help and the land that has been prepared for 5 years.

God spoke to us about being a base where joy will overflow, where we will be a blessing to others, will be a cog to mobilise others to come in and go out and unify people from the county, people kept seeing provision in cars and accommodation for our missionaries

As I am sitting now writing a report for YWAM England trustees I can see God’s faithfulness through it all and I can remember the many times where we were not sure how God will do something that it looked so big to us, the many times that we all cried out to God for breakthrough. The thing is that when you are going through those times you can’t see it, you just need to know that you have to position yourself and let God do it. Seven years later and this is our report from last year:

YWAM Immerse Cornwall has been bustling with activity, engaging in various ministries and outreaches over the past year. The team consisted of eight long-term staff members, one local volunteer, three short-term staff members, six English interns, and one general intern. We welcomed 63 guests into our community.

What are we doing now?

What are we doing now?

Well, we are now running the internship and it has been amazing to see how the interns are helping us to develop three ministries that we felt we needed to concentrate in. Creativity, media, english.

This week I (Wendy) went to teach in a DTS. After seeing how much God has done in the trainees and how much hunger there was in that DTS, it encouraged me so much more to see how privileged we all are in being part of His Kingdom and how much is to get to know Him more and to let Him transform my life more and more as well.

We have been believing for God to bring revival in this county, but as we push more towards that and every moment we are wanting God to bring that revival in our hearts, because it has to start with us.

As a response to that revival we are continuing with the gathering called Waves. This is run one Sunday a month as preparation for revival in Cornwall. It has been such an amazing time. If you want to hear the messages from Waves you can go to this link below.

FAMILY

These last weeks we have been “stretched” so much in a few different areas of finances, homeschooling and ministry. We are seeing that our position will dictate whether it is a stretching to grow or stretching to complain and get stuck.
God has been reminding us of His faithfulness as a family. He is in everything and always has been, just as He said to Joshua “Have I not command you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go” We are remembering how God called us as family here. We prayed with our girls before about our move to Cornwall. It was a move that brought some challenges, especially for one of our girls, but it is so amazing to see our girls flourishing and being hungry for Jesus.

Ella is in her iGCSE (UK exams for secondary kids) where she is working really hard studying. Saria is enjoying homeschooling, she is in a club now learning to cook and she is loving it, as well as dancing, studying english in a homeschooling club where she is making new friends and also studying other subjects from her curriculum.

Daniel and I are learning a lot in this time and keep reminding ourselves of the calling of Levite that God has given us, these last weeks we have been praying for the Lord to provide for all the things that we need for these next months. Please join us in prayer as we need right now to see what does the Lord needs us to do to be able to have the provision for this year, month and weeks to come, as we face few challenges as a family.
